Summary

Using drumming, music, dancing, face painting, etc., it is possible to transform routine activities and boring information into animated and memorable learning adventures . For such experiences to have meaningful it is important to discuss, and integrate people thoughts, perspectives and feelings and relate these to particular work related facts, figures and information.

Playshops Offered

‘Drumboom inspirational workshops for Schools”

 

 

•  Drumming for children (1 hour workshop)

•  Weekly drumming and performance classes. Where children will learn the art of African drumming and music and work towards a show that will be performed at the end of the year for your school and parents.

•  Interaction circles with children and parents. Where together we explore rhythm dance and drumming.

•  We have a wide verity of traditional instruments that will keep children inspired and teach the fundamentals of any kind of music.

•  Instruments will be provided until such time children are ready to purchase their own.

•  Interactive workshop with the !xhoi San Bushman from Namibia (booking in advance essential)

We Invite you to experience one of the most ancient cultures on Earth through an interactive workshop with the !xhoi San Bushman from Namibia. A Family of 4 - !gubi the father (age 106), daughter Anna (56), daughter Marcella (30) and son Johannes (25)

•  Storytelling.

•  Traditional children songs from Namibia

•  Learn the dance and sounds of the wild Kalahari animals for e.g. ostrich, fox, springbok, kudu or the kwe of the grey lourie

•  Learn the clapping of hands, songs sung through thousands of years of the !xhoi San Bushman

•  Creative art – ostrich egg shell necklace , bangle or key ring making from !xhoi San bushman beads or bows and arrows making, combined with simulated hunting of self created cardboard animals or monsters representing fears or other issues to be dealt with.

Cost:

R60 per child

R80 for bow and arrows or bead workshop.
