Rain stick making work and play shops

What is a rain stick?

A rain stick is an ancient instrument found in Central America and was used by the American Indians to call rain.

A hollow bamboo is fitted with sticks and then filled with seeds and stones to create the soothing beautiful sound of falling rain.

Participants in the workshop will each choose a bamboo piece and with the help of qualified crafts people proceed to make and decorate a beautiful rain stick.

Children as well as adults can participate and enjoy the rain stick making process.

As a teambuilding tool a massive bamboo can be used to make a big rain stick on which all the members work together to create a beautiful sounding and looking instrument.

The idea of making rain can extend into many aspects of our lives from our work to our families and our personal lives as a medium of growth and nourishment.

To become a rainmaker is personally imowering and beneficial to individuals, groups and the environment.
